Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, with a history stretching back more than 2,800 years. Despite its ancient roots, it feels vibrant and modern, with wide boulevards, lively cafes, and an ever-present view of the majestic Mount Ararat on the horizon. The city is a fascinating blend of old and new, where Soviet-era architecture sits alongside contemporary art galleries and bustling markets.

Republic Square is the heart of Yerevan, a grand space known for its ornate buildings made from pink volcanic tuff stone and a nightly fountain show that draws both locals and visitors. Not far away, the Cascade Complex offers sweeping views of the city and Mount Ararat, with gardens, stairways, and open-air sculptures that make it both a cultural and social hub.

Yerevan also has a thriving cafe and wine culture, with outdoor terraces that stay lively until late in the evening. The Vernissage market is another highlight, where visitors can browse handmade crafts, traditional carpets, jewelry, and Soviet-era memorabilia. A stroll through its tree-lined streets often leads to unexpected finds, whether it’s a tucked-away jazz bar or a bakery serving warm lavash.
